Flippin' Mocks

Topic: HTML/Code Avengers

Class: Year 10

Covering: Exam preparation using CodeAvengers. See here for flipped lesson blog.

Ian and I are continuing to 'flip' our lessons using our teaching blogs and this time around we have focused on Year 10 as they have their Mock Exams coming up...

We set our classes off on the independent task of 'Learning HTML' using some suggested websites, in order to prepare for their ICT exam. The following lesson was then broken down into the Red/Amber/Green tasks to differentiate:

Red → Continue codeavengers.com with my help L1 HTML/CSS

Amber → Continue codeavengers.com independently/with a partner

Green → Move on to jsbin.com and use W3Schools.com to independently code using the HTML provided

The flipped learning means that the students appreciate the need for learning outside of the classroom - especially when they can see their peers moving onto a 'green' task!
